Manawydan, Midsummer

Hail, son of sea,
At summer’s height I honour you
In this place which is not fully land nor water.

I meet you at the edge

Where the salt veins of your stories run through the red rock bones
Where your daughters swim in channels deep beneath the earth
To ring us home.

I honour you
With sunshine and with song
In the presence of your sacred flower,
Hail.
